Information for Parents

Families of Prospective Students

The transition to university abroad is a huge journey for students, and we understand that you’re on that journey with them.

As the family member of a John Cabot student, you will see your relative supported every step of the way. From arriving at the airport, to adjusting to residential life, to registering for classes and learning how to balance academic responsibilities with self-discovery and personal growth, John Cabot will be there for them while you cheer them on.

It is our strong belief that learning takes place both inside and outside the classroom, and this is never truer than during the experience of studying abroad - be it for a summer, semester, or a full four-year degree. We strive to give your students the tools they need to be successful to take full advantage of their time in Rome. We want to help make this journey easier for you and your family. Whether it’s planning a campus visit, preparing the application materials, or researching scholarships, we are here to help you along the way.

The best way to experience John Cabot University and see if it is the right fit for you and your student is to visit us!

Campus visits are available Monday through Friday. Each visit consists of a private meeting with an admissions counselor and a walking tour of our facilities. Students can also request to sit in on one or more classes or have lunch with us to try out our Tiber Cafeteria.  Sign up here, or for more information, email [email protected].

We also regularly host Open Houses, which include information about JCU's academics, student life, housing, financial aid, scholarships, the application process, a campus tour, and the opportunity to ask questions to admissions counselors and current students. Sign up here for an upcoming Open House, or for more information, email [email protected].

With a student body from over 80 countries, we understand that traveling to Rome for a campus tour is often impossible. We encourage you to take our  virtual tour to learn more about life at JCU and to check out the rest of the videos on our  YouTube channel to learn more.

All roads may lead to Rome, but it's helpful to have a little guidance once you get here. We have compiled some information that should make planning your trip and finding your way around once you're here much easier:
