Graduate Housing

Graduate Housing offers convenience and independence for students seeking accommodations where they can immerse themselves in the daily life of Rome and take advantage of being part of the JCU graduate community.

Graduate students have the option to live in a studio apartment or in a shared apartment (single-occupancy bedroom). All apartments are fully furnished with all utilities included. The apartments are in neighborhoods near the campuses and are accessible on the city’s public transportation with up to a 30–45-minute commute by bus or tram, or on foot.

The apartments can have various floor plans, aesthetics, furnishings, or locations. Students can include building and room options on the application as preferred housing options; however, the actual placement may vary based on the availability and the date of submission. Graduate Housing is limited, and priority is given to new incoming graduate students who start in Fall.

The JCU Housing team supports students living in Graduate Housing with advice, tips, and information about nearby shops and services. Additionally, students are provided with an emergency number available 24/7.

Graduate students can also consider alternative accommodations through the third-party provider, Dotcampus. In partnership with JCU Housing, a limited number of Dotcampus’ rooms are reserved for JCU graduate students each semester.

Housing Contract and Payments

JCU Housing application is considered complete and is accepted only if both application and deposit are submitted by the deadline. There is limited availability in JCU Housing and at times demand surpasses availability. Once all housing options reach their full capacity, it will be communicated promptly to any applicant that they will be placed on a waiting list even if they applied by the deadline. Housing applications that do not meet the deposit, and full payment deadline will be waitlisted. Any submissions after the deadline will not be considered for JCU Housing.

Housing Contract Terms

JCU Housing rental term is for two consecutive semesters starting Fall to Spring, including breaks between sessions. Summer terms are optional for returning students who are enrolled from Fall to Spring and decide to take summer classes. Submit JCU Graduate Housing application and deposit by the deadline.

Students can choose housing for a part of the program or for the entire program duration. Submit one of the two applications and deposit by the deadline.

  • Contract A: 36-weeks contract (Dual-Degree MBA program terms 1 to 3) OR
  • Contract B: 47-weeks contract (Dual-Degree MBA program terms 1 to 4)

Payment Terms

Students are required to submit a Housing application and deposit ($ 2000) by the housing application deadline. The remaining balance is billed each semester in installments over two or three semesters depending on the graduate programs. The total housing fee includes breaks between semesters. For further details regarding payment installment(s) and deadlines, see the Prices under the MA program.

Financial Aid

  • Submit both housing application and deposit by the deadline. The remaining balance is deferred until the financial aid is disbursed. If the remaining balance cannot be submitted by the full payment deadline, students must notify JCU Housing before the deadline to avoid being waitlisted.
  • If housing deposit requirement cannot be met, email [email protected] by the housing application deadline. For further information, visit the Financial Aid page.

Waiting List

Should any spaces become available, the Housing Office will contact students immediately for confirmation and they will be asked to submit a deposit or a full payment, depending on the date of the confirmation. Upon notification of the location and type of housing assigned, students will have the choice to accept or reject the offer within 48 hours from when the notification is sent.

Housing deposit without submitting a housing application by the deadline will not be accepted and will be placed on a waiting list. The complete application must be submitted with a deposit by the deadline (midnight CET) to be fully considered for allocation. The Housing deposit without the submission of a complete application does not guarantee housing.

MEDICAL-RELATED ACCOMMODATION

If students have medical-related requests, they must complete the ‘Health Related Accommodation Needs’ section of the housing application with a medical or supporting document uploaded by the deadline.

Students can update or make changes to their application on the Student Portal before the application deadline (midnight CET). After the deadline, the submitted application will remain available to view only.

How to apply for JCU Housing

The housing application is available online through the JCU Student Portal for students who are enrolled in the university. The application must be fully completed and submitted with a housing deposit by the housing application deadline for each intended semester. The housing contract is program-basis, and the duration of the rental term depends on each graduate program.

All enrolled students can access JCU Housing application on the Student Portal with their JCU login.

Luxury Management MA students should email [email protected] to receive further instructions to apply for housing.
