The body, a place of memory and emotional experiences of an individual, occupies a physical space and inhabits an internal space. Through movement, we draw paths and emotional maps together with the other people, developing into a relationship. Through the conscious use of the body and movement, one can build meaningful empathetic relationships in different contexts of social disadvantage.

Erasmus Plus + a cui Elidea - Psicologi Associati ha partecipato come partner tecnico
insieme a Focsiv, La Guilde Européenne du Raid e FEC | Fundação Fé e Cooperação.
Il progetto si è concluso con la realizzazione di un sistema metodologicamente strutturato
per la valorizzazione delle competenze sviluppate dai giovani che hanno partecipato
ad un programma di volontariato all'estero.
Durante l'evento sarà possibile sperimentare il test di valutazione delle soft skills
EaSYTest e comprendere come le aziende, in particolare i referenti delle HR possano
trarre vantaggio dall'uso del modello. Il test può essere un aiuto efficace per chi
voglia assumere giovani che hanno svolto un'esperienza di volontariato, traducendo
la complessità dei vissuti in un linguaggio più immediato per il selezionatore e maggiormente
spendibile per i giovani.
L'evento si svolgerà in lingua italiana in partnership con Elidea - Psicologi Associati.

"In Cammino... Catering Migrante" is a humanitarian project that fosters social inclusion and professional development for migrant and refugee cooks in Rome. JCU Service Learning partner Humilitas, the ASCS Onlus program for the Latin-American Mission to Rome, launched the initiative three months ago in collaboration with Gustamundo, a restaurant that runs fundraising dinners with the help of refugee centers and not-for-profit organizations.
Gaia Mormina, Humilitas Coordinator, will be presenting the project as a case study in the context of Professor Antonella Salvatore's "Service Marketing" course.

FOCSIV (Federazione Organismi Cristiani di Servizio Internazionale Volontario) will be hosted at John Cabot University to celebrate the International Volunteer Day. The event will include speeches from international volunteer organizations representatives and the award ceremony to nominate the best volunteer in Italy for 2017. Following, there will be an aperitivo in Library Study Room for all participants.

Human rights and gender equality are sensible issues for police forces. Especially when trainings are imposed on law enforcement authorities by external actors, the risk of generating in participants a punitive idea and, consequently, a negative attitude that undermines the efficacy of the lesson is high. Professor Silvia Scarpa will discuss how in the last few years she dealt with complex scenarios while being engaged in training law enforcement authorities from all over the world.

Civico Zero is a not for profit organization funded by Save the Children, to operate with children in the city of Rome. Its mission is to support and protect migrant minors (mostly unaccompanied), suffering a condition of social exclusion.
Civico Zero representatives will illustrate their daily operations to address the many issues related to the increasing number of minors within the current migration flows (15% of the migrants who reached Italy in the past 6 months are minors); and the numerous long term projects and initiatives promoted by the organization to facilitate and support social inclusion.

Flavia Cuniolo, representative of Croce Rossa Italiana (Italian Red Cross), will share the organization's experience in sheltering refugees. Ms. Cuniolo will explain CRI's daily activities as well as who are the refugees it deals with and how it helps them.

With 166 member states, a further 8 states holding observer status and offices in over 100 countries, IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants. IOM works to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including refugees and internally displaced people.

JCU Service Learning – Combining Fieldwork and Education - is proud to present Casa Scalabrini 634 as one of its most valuable partners participating in this Spring 2017 Career Fair #2 (Friday, April 21st). Casa Scalabrini 634 is a program of the Scalabrinian Agency for Cooperation and Development (ASCS Onlus) and executive center of the program for "Welcoming and Inclusive Community" (programma CAI "Comunità Accogliente e Inclusiva") of the Scalabrinian Congregation, serving migrants and refugees in 32 countries worldwide since 100 years. Their mission is the promotion of the welcoming and integration culture among refugees, migrants and the local community. In fact, the program welcomes refugees, both families and young adults, and promotes activities open to everyone. General Director Gioacchino Campese, former Director of the House of Migrants in Tijuana at the border with USA and currently Professor at the Scalabrini International Migration Institute (SIMI), will give an overview on the activities of the Scalabrinians worldwide. Following, JCU Alumna Marianna Occhiuto, Head of Communication and Fundraising at Casa Scalabrini 634, will present more in detail the activities of Casa Scalabrini 634 in Rome.

Guest Speaker: Alessio Di Carlo, Founder and Vice President of CooperAction Onlus, supporting human rights and working to improve life conditions of populations that face deep economic, social and political crisis. He has been and is very active in Abruzzo for example, but historically also in Afghanistan. He has an extensive experience in professional training as Development Project Trainer and Expert Founder, with a specific focus on project management for non-profit organizations.
The workshop "Project Management in Non-Profit Organizations" aims at improving the knowledge of project management in non-profit organizations. The workshop will present a non-profit sector overview underlying similarities and differences with the for-profit model. The workshop will focus on the intervention logic and the main causes of failure validating the Project Cycle Management as a more suitable methodology to reduce risks. The workshop will end with a presentation of the most important and useful approaches, such as LFA and ToC, for all of new professionals dealing with international development.

Professor Clough Marinaro has been doing fieldwork with vulnerable ethnic minority groups for 20 years. She will present some of her experiences and the challenges she has faced and will guide students in developing their own strategies for doing ethical and sensitive practical research with and among vulnerable people.
Professor Clough Marinaro is the head of the Modern Languages and Literature Department at John Cabot University. Her current research interests include immigration to Italy, Romani political activism, urban development and its social consequences in Rome, changing forms of crime and the informal economy in Italy.
