The Master's program in Luxury Management and Customer Experience – Italian Excellence is a full-time 12-month course.


The goal of the program is to provide young professionals with the key technical and managerial skills needed today to succeed in the luxury sector. The program aims to shape future professionals in hospitality, jewelry and other luxury sectors, with a particular focus on the luxury customer experience and on Italy’s excellence in this field. Moreover, participants will learn the skills needed to stand out in the luxury sector and how to grow luxury businesses. By contrast, traditional programs in general management rarely address the specific skill set needed by managers in luxury.

This program offers a specialized, and highly customized, learning experience. The learn-by-doing approach ensures a strong interaction inside and outside the classroom and offers the opportunity to put theory into practice. The program is based on 4 pillars:

  • Luxury Industry and Managing Excellence across the Value Chain
  • Luxury Branding and Communication
  • Italian Excellence and the Italian Touch: Creating the Finest Customer Experience
  • Project Work/Internship

The program is in English and lasts 12 months, from September 2024 to April 2025. The first month of General Management will be delivered online, followed by six months of classes in Rome.
During and after classes, students will have the opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge to practical projects.

The building hosting the JCU Center for Graduate Studies and Luxury Management classes dates back to 1495. It was built as a home for Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, the future Pope Paul III. In the first half of the 19th century, it passed on to the powerful Bourbon family. Since 1934 it has been part of the adjacent Accademia dei Lincei, the oldest academy in the world dedicated to the study of the humanities and natural sciences. Galileo Galilei, Enrico Fermi and Vito Volterra were among its members.

The strong synergy between academic and job-specific skills makes it possible to help managers grow professionally, while developing their work identity. For this reason, the Center provides individual and group support through counseling and guidance services. 

JOBIRI is the JCU Career Services virtual career coach: a job/career platform using artificial intelligence, available in English and Italian, offering a wide range of benefits for students and graduates.

Webinars and sessions are open to all students, providing tips on how to optimize their professional profile, focusing on soft skills development and LinkedIn personal branding.

POLIMI GSoM Career Development Centre is an extended team of Career Consultants, partnering with mentors, trainers, alumni and headhunters, with the objective of developing Career Management Skills. The Career Consultants design, constantly innovate, and enrich the Career Development Program, offering Career Skills Development Workshops, Career counseling and networking events every year.

Thanks to POLIMI GSoM’s Career Development Program, which adopts an innovative and rigorous methodology, students will be guided through a structured development path. Starting from a self-assessment of their skills and an analysis of the job market, candidates will design a customized career strategy and an effective action plan, to turn their career aspirations into achievable goals. At the end of POLIMI GSoM's Career Development Program, students will have developed a set of professional skills that enable them to be highly competitive in today’s job market, and become successful “career leaders”. To offer students the best support for enhancing their CV, POLIMI GSoM is partnering with VMock, a smart Career Preparation Platform that enables students get an objective score on their CV and optimize its impact. To provide students with relevant resources relating to trends in various industry sectors, country-specific career guides and career-related webinars, POLIMI GSoM is partnering with major international career platforms and guarantees students free access to POLIMI GSoM’s Global Network of Career Websites.

Right from the start of the program, the Career Development Centre supports candidates in increasing their brand and economic value, to enable them to pursue their managerial career at both national and international level. The Career Development Centre organizes workshops with the main objective of supporting students in developing the necessary career management to succeed in this complex and ever-changing competitive job market, such as personal branding skills, job interview skills, public speaking and presentation skills, and cross-cultural skills for working in international teams and organizations.
