Independent Study Abroad
If you are not enrolled at one of our partner universities and are approved by your university to do so, you may apply for admission directly with us by following these instructions:
- Go to your Study Abroad Office to make sure that you are approved to apply for admission directly with us and follow any internal policies they may have.
- Once approved, submit our online application, pay the $/€50 application fee (please note that only U.S. and Canadian citizens may pay in dollars), and submit an official copy of your university transcript. Transcripts not in English or Italian must be accompanied by a certified English language translation. Non-native speakers of English who have studied in an English language institution for fewer than two years must also submit proof of English proficiency.
- Review the courses you want to take at JCU with your advisor to make sure that they will transfer towards your degree requirements, and that you have the necessary academic background to take them.
JCU Housing
If you wish to stay in JCU housing, you may apply for it through the application portal once you have been accepted as a student.
Financial Aid
Study abroad students attending from non-partner institutions are welcome to apply for a Study Abroad Scholarship. Recipients of financial aid in the US may also transfer their aid from their home institution. Learn more about our financial aid options.
