Founded in 2012, the ASD Stone Tower Sports is the licensed operator that provides a diverse range of sports opportunities for all JCU students, faculty, and staff. Our mission is to foster a healthy lifestyle through engaging sports programs that build physical skills and overall well-being. JCU has entrusted the ASD with the organization, programming, and execution of all sports activities and tournaments.

How to Join: Joining any of our sports programs is easy! JCU students, staff, and faculty simply need to activate their membership status with the ASD Stone Tower team.
Players involved in JCU team sports have the opportunity to form long-lasting international friendships with team members and opponents.
The John Cabot Men's Soccer Team, the Gladiators, is one of the 8 teams in the League of the Roman Universities that competes every year from September to May, playing a standard 11-vs-11 game.
The John Cabot Women's Soccer Team competes in the Roman Universities League from September to May. The team plays Futsal, a dynamic and fast-paced 5-vs-5 indoor version of soccer. They are three-time winners of the Roman Universities Championship (2015, 2017, 2019) and proudly claimed the title at the 2025 International Tournament organized by ACG in Athens.
The John Cabot Men’s Basketball Team competes in the Roman Universities League and trains regularly throughout the academic year. In 2016, the team won the Roman Universities Championship. It’s a great opportunity for experienced players to showcase their talent and represent JCU in high-level competition.
The Women’s Basketball Team at John Cabot University is open to students of all levels who want to compete, improve their skills, and be part of a close-knit squad. The team trains weekly and plays in the official Roman university league.
The John Cabot Volleyball Team participates in the Coed Volleyball Tournament of Roman Universities, a 6-vs-6 indoor volleyball league open to all students. Players of any skill level are welcome to join and compete in a fun and supportive environment! The team won the very first edition of the Roman Universities Championship in 2014.
One of the many fun activities offered by the Athletics Department is our newest addition: Cheerleading! Stay fit and have fun with fellow students while learning routines and performing at JCU’s biggest athletic events. The team performs regularly during ceremonies and the most important games of the season, and takes part in an international cheerleading competition every year.
The JCU Padel Team competes in a round-robin tournament against other Roman universities. Each match features a men’s doubles, a women’s doubles, and a mixed doubles game, offering a dynamic and inclusive format for players of all backgrounds.
JCU’s Tennis Team takes part in the Roman Universities Championship, with each fixture including a men’s singles, a women’s singles, and a mixed doubles match. It’s a great way for tennis enthusiasts to represent their university and enjoy competitive play.
