Student Leadership Programs

The Leadership Programs are committed to providing opportunities for students to practice their leadership skills in a variety of ways by joining the boards of Student Clubs and Organizations, the Student Activities Board, by becoming a Resident Assistant or an Orientation Leader. Our motto is: explore, excel, experience and grow together.

Student leaders receive several leadership trainings and get plenty of chances to put their skills to use throughout their career while at JCU and beyond. At the end of each academic year, the Office of Student Services pays tribute to the student leaders who enrich John Cabot University through their leadership roles in clubs, organizations, teams, and publications – all while maintaining excellent grade point averages. These student leaders demonstrate the high value of learning outside of the classroom, and they are awarded a Leadership certificate at the Student Life Celebration and a red cord to wear during their Commencement ceremony.

Student Clubs and Organizations

Student Clubs and Organizations

The Clubs program has seen a steady rate of growth over the last five years. There are 28 active clubs that are run by over 100 student leaders. This increased involvement in the Clubs program has also provided new learning opportunities and experiences for the entire student body. The 2018/2019 academic year counted over 330 events organized by clubs, promoting the blending of the students. Interested in joining? Contact [email protected]

Resident Assistants 2019

Resident Assistant Program

Resident Assistants (RAs) are an integral part of the Office of Housing and Residential Life as peer advisors and role models for the students. RAs take the lead on creating an environment of mutual respect that supports the rights of the community while simultaneously safeguarding the rights of individual residents. RAs assist the Housing Office in enabling students to appreciate, benefit from and contribute to the richness and diversity of other cultures. Interested in joining? Contact [email protected]

Orientation Leaders

Orientation Leadership Program

Orientation Leaders (OLs) and Skippers are key in welcoming incoming students as they transition to their new life in Italy. They introduce the new students to navigating Rome as well as giving an overview of all the services and opportunities available at the University. They are in contact with the students prior, during and after arrival to Rome. They will forever be peer leaders and friendly figures of authority. Interested in joining? Contact [email protected]
