Housing Prices for MA Students

John Cabot University assists students admitted to the program in finding suitable housing in Rome. The cost of housing is not included in the tuition for the degree. Please note, the spaces are limited. Students can enter preferred housing options on the housing application; however, the actual placement may vary based on the availability and the date of submission. Important notice for students with dual citizenship: Please note that you must decide at the beginning of your studies whether your billing currency will be euros or dollars. You will be billed in the same currency for the entire time that you attend JCU.

Disclaimer for students on Health Insurance while at JCU: Unless otherwise noted, if you are a non-EU citizen, you will need to purchase Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI) Health Insurance. If you are an EU citizen, you must have valid health insurance in Italy; we highly encourage you to purchase CISI Health Insurance.

First Year Master Students

Summer Sessions 2025

Duration: 6 weeks (Summer I), 5 weeks (Summer II), 11 weeks (Both Summer I & II) 
Housing Deposit (non-refundable): $ 1,000 (Summer I); $ 1,000 (Summer II) 
Application and Deposit Deadline: April 15 (Summer I), May 15 (Summer II); April 15 (Both Summer I & II)
Full Payment Deadline: April 30 (Summer I), May 30 (Summer II); April 30 (Both Summer I & II)
Move-in and Move-out dates: refer to the Arrival Information page

Students planning to stay in JCU Housing for both Summer I and Summer II sessions must be enrolled in classes for both sessions and submit separate Housing application and deposit ($ 1,000) for each session by April 30th. Graduate summer housing is optional.

Fall 2025 and Spring 2026

Rental Term: 37 weeks (including intermission break between Fall and Spring)
Housing Deposit (non-refundable due by Fall application deadline): $ 2,000
Application and Deposit Deadline: May 15
Installment Payment Deadline: July 15 (Fall 2025), November 30, 2025 (Spring 2026)
Move-in and move-out dates: refer to the Arrival Information page.

To secure housing, students must submit a completed Fall application along with deposits for both Fall and Spring ($ 2,000) by the Fall application deadline. The remaining Fall balance and the Winter Break housing fee are due by the Fall Full Payment deadline (July 15). The Winter Break housing fee is mandatory for the Extended Housing Contract option. The remaining Spring balance must be paid by the Spring Full Payment deadline (November 30).

Second Year Master Students

Fall 2025

Duration: 15 weeks 
Housing Deposit (non-refundable): $1000
Application and Deposit Deadline: May 15
Full Payment Deadline: July 15
Move-in and move-out dates: refer to the Arrival Information page

Second-year graduate housing is available only with a semester-based contract. Graduate housing is limited, with priority given to new incoming graduate students starting in the fall. If any housing spaces become available, the Housing Office will promptly notify students, who will then be required to submit either a deposit or full payment, depending on the confirmation date.

External Housing Provider For Graduate Students - DotCampus

Graduate students can also consider alternative accommodations through the third-party provider, Dotcampus. In partnership with JCU Housing, a limited number of Dotcampus’ rooms are reserved for JCU graduate students each semester. The location is well connected with the city’s public transportation.

Please note, Dotcampus is a private operator independent of John Cabot University and students are required to contact them directly through their website. Dotcampus is solely responsible for the delivery of their services and terms of rental. John Cabot University is not responsible for any loss, damage, or inconvenience. JCU will not intervene in case of dissatisfaction, disputes on rental, payment, or service terms.
