International Relations Society

Who we are

We are a group of students who came together, through our love of politics, in the fall of 2014 and decided to start this project. The Society seeks to examine what is going on in the world through academic discussions and informal conversations that include all members of the JCU community. We take advantage of the multicultural backgrounds of the students in our university to enrich our own opinion regarding current events. The topics are controversial, and there may be no single truth. Each member of the club has the opportunity to enhance his or her own thinking by talking and discussing and by weighing his or her views against the views of others in a friendly environment.

What we do

  • Exchange - We organize conversations about current events with guest speakers and the JCU community
  • Cooperate - We cooperate with Professor Driessen on his very successful Pizza and Politics project
  • Experts - We invite ambassadors, politicians, and scholars to give lectures and answer our questions
  • Travel - Every semester we visit international courts and institutions in Europe as a group
