GrassrootsABOUT US

Grassroots, founded in 2013, is the environmental club at John Cabot University. The name itself reflects both our connection to the Earth, as well as our ground-up approach to tackling environmental issues. We consider ourselves to be imbued with a special sense of community. We feel it is our individual responsibility to promote the knowledge and respect of the environment as the very foundation of our collective future. It is important that we respect life on Earth and our social and economic wellbeing as a whole. The change begins with us and with everyone who decides to stand up and change the world for the better, one person and one act at a time. Our motto is “Be the Change.”

If our message and sense of community resonates with you, we invite you to join us! Remember, it all begins with you. Let's "Be the Change," for there is no planet B.

  • Promote general self-awareness and wellbeing.

ACTIVITIES

Biweekly Meetings

Biweekly Meetings

These meetings provide an opportunity for members to come together and discuss environmental issues. It’s a great way to stay informed and engaged in the club’s activities.

Weekly Cleanup

Weekly Cleanups of Rome

Grassroots collaborates with the Office of Community Service to organize weekly cleanups in Trastevere. These scheduled cleanups take place on Fridays in the morning. Participating in these cleanups is a hands-on way to contribute to the local community and make a positive impact on the environment.

Clothing Drive

Clothing Donation Drive

We believe in the value of second-hand clothing as a sustainable practice. We collect clothes on specific days in the semester, sanitize them, and display them in the Lemon Tree Courtyard. This initiative promotes sustainable fashion and raises awareness about the environmental impact of clothing consumption.
