Fiamma Morichelli, from Spoleto, in Central Italy, is a JCU alumna who graduated in December 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. She is currently an Assistant Brand Manager Intern at Peroni Nastro Azzurro, a premium Italian lager beer. The Career Services team sat down with Fiamma to learn more about her journey from the JCU Career Fair to the Peroni headquarters in Rome.
How did you learn about this job opportunity?
In November 2025, I attended the JCU Career Fair, where I had the opportunity to connect with the Peroni team and introduce myself. That first conversation opened the door to formally applying for open positions as Assistant Brand Manager and Digital Media Specialist. It started as a genuine conversation – the kind where you feel seen, not just evaluated.
What was the selection process like?
Following that initial screening interview, I was told the company was interested in moving forward. I was then invited to attend a dedicated Peroni webinar for shortlisted candidates, where we were introduced to the company structure and informed that the second round of interviews would include both a formal interview and the presentation of a business case in English. The case focused on Peroni Nastro Azzurro and required strategic thinking, positioning analysis, and a clear presentation of ideas based on the material provided by the company.
After graduation, just two days after my graduation party, I walked into the Peroni headquarters for my final interview. It felt symbolic: one chapter closing, another about to begin.
The second round was intense and stimulating. Presenting the business case in English, defending my ideas, and discussing strategy with the team pushed me outside my comfort zone in the best possible way, allowing me to demonstrate not only my motivation but also my strategic thinking and communication skills. At the end of the process, I was asked which role I felt most aligned with. I chose Assistant Brand Manager, as I was particularly drawn to long-term strategy, positioning, and brand building.
The very next day, I received a call offering me a paid internship.
What is your job like today?
I am now part of the marketing team as an Assistant Brand Manager Intern. I have been contributing to projects such as the Six Nations Rugby sponsorship, Ferrari activations for the F1, and Internazionali d’Italia tennis activations, alongside other international brand projects. Every time I step into the office, I remember that it all started with a conversation at the JCU Career Fair.
Would you recommend attending the Career Fair?
Looking back, the Career Fair was not just a recruitment event: it was the bridge between who I was as a student and who I am becoming as a professional. It reminded me that preparation meets opportunity in very real ways.
That’s exactly why I would encourage every student to attend the Career Fair at JCU with curiosity and confidence: sometimes the most important step in your career starts with simply introducing yourself and giving it a try!
