Marialaura Grandolfo is a teacher and translator based in Rome. She received a B.A. in English Literature from JCU and an MLitt in Contemporary Studies from the University of St Andrews, Scotland. She is currently working on her PhD in Comparative Literature at St Andrews. Her research project looks at fanfiction (fan-produced derivative fiction) as a modern form of mythmaking. Her research interests include the recurrence of narratives across literary genres and media, contemporary uses of realism, and narrative as a tool of identity and community formation.
