Minor in Psychology in Rome
OVERVIEW
The Psychology minor offers a broad overview of the field of behavioral science. It introduces students to the scientific methods used to investigate human behavior and provides them with the opportunity to further explore the social, cognitive, and/or biological factors influencing it. The emphasis on scientific and experimental inquiry combined with the discipline’s focus on understanding human behavior and mental processes make the minor in Psychology a valuable addition to many of our current majors.
- Knowledge base in Psychology. Students should demonstrate knowledge and understanding of major concepts, theories, empirical findings and application the main areas of psychology
- Scientific inquiry and critical thinking. Students should demonstrate adequate knowledge of the methods and procedures of scientific inquiry and develop scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Requirements for the Minor
Six courses, at least four of which must have a PS prefix, to be chosen from:
1. At least four courses with a PS prefix
2. Two additional courses which may be PS or MA 208, MA 209 or MGT 310.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL MINORS
- No more than one grade of lower than a C- will be accepted in courses applying to the minor.
- In the case of multiple minors, no course may apply to more than one minor.
- No more than three courses may apply to both the major and the minor.
- At least four courses must be taken in residence at John Cabot.
- Requirements for the minor must be completed by the time of graduation.
