A historian of modern China and expert on East Asia, Professor John Delury focuses on US-China relations and the Korean peninsula. In 2023, he was selected as the inaugural Tsao Family Prize Fellow at the American Academy in Rome, where he explored China’s vision of empire. He recently published the article “Can South Korea’s Democracy Survive?” in Foreign Affairs.
