The Bulgari scholarship presentation in Paramythia, Greece
On April 2, 2026, Anastasia Koniali, Development Officer at John Cabot University, traveled to Paramythia, Greece, to present the Bulgari Scholarship to the students of the General Lyceum of Paramythia.
The Bulgari Scholarship is generously offered by Nicola Bulgari, Chairman of the Fondazione Nicola Bulgari. Entrepreneur and philanthropist, he is the grandson of Sotirios Bulgari, founder of the luxury brand Bulgari.
It is the first full scholarship in the history of the university and will be awarded to one deserving student from the General Lyceum of Paramythia. The scholarship covers full tuition, housing, and meals for the entirety of the student’s four-year undergraduate studies, beginning in Fall 2026.
The Municipality of Souli and the Mayor, Mr. Athanasios Danis, warmly welcomed this initiative and organized two presentation sessions. These were attended by more than 50 students from the 11th and 12th grades, along with faculty, parents, and officials, including representatives of the Greek Ministry of Education.

The Bulgari Scholarship stands as a testament to his belief in the power of opportunity, the value of heritage, and the transformative impact of education. John Cabot University looks forward to welcoming the first recipient of the Bulgari Scholarship in Fall 2026.
Historical Ties to Paramythia
Paramythia, Greece, holds special significance for the Bulgari family, as it is the birthplace of Sotirio Bulgari, a gifted silversmith who emigrated from Greece and began his jewelry empire in 1884. In his honor, his children funded the construction of the Bulgari School in 1932, a landmark institution in Paramythia that continues to serve as a symbol of education and community.
The Bulgari School has recently been transformed into a museum, showcasing the remarkable journey of the family. Given these deep historical ties, the dialogue between John Cabot University and Paramythia reflects a longstanding and meaningful relationship.
