Assistant Professor of International Relations
Daniëlle Flonk is an Assistant Professor of International Relations who joined John Cabot University in 2026. She holds a PhD in Governance from the Hertie School in Berlin and was formerly a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence and an Assistant Professor at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo. She conducts research on global internet governance by focusing on how countries push for norms on content regulation and how international cooperation on internet censorship develops. She is also developing a research agenda on the role of autocracies in global governance by assessing how they shape norms and institutions. She has recently published in International Affairs, the Journal of European Public Policy and the Journal of International Relations and Development.
