All JCU undergraduates must complete general as well as Departmental curriculum requirements, which are outlined below. 

A. The Proficiency and General Distribution Requirements of the University.

B. Additional Requirements for the Marketing Major:

  • ACCT 201 Financial Accounting
  • CS 110 Computer Office Applications or CS 160 Programming Concepts and Applications
  • EC 201 Principles of Microeconomics
  • MA 208 Statistics I
  • MA 209 Statistics II
  • PS 101 General Psychology

C. Core Curriculum

  • MGT 301 Principles of Management
  • MKT 301 Principles of Marketing
  • MKT 305 Market & Marketing Research 
  • MKT 310 Consumer Behavior
  • MKT 320 Integrated Marketing Communications
  • MKT 340 Digital Marketing 
  • MKT 360 Brand Management
  • MKT 365 B2B Marketing
  • MKT 490 Strategic Marketing Management

The University requires an overall minimum grade point average of 2.00 in all courses taken at the University and no more than two grades lower than C- in core courses required for the major. 

D. Major Electives (4 courses)

4 upper division (300- or 400-level) courses to be chosen as follows: 

  • 2 upper division MKT courses 
  • 1 upper division ACCT/BUS/EC/FIN/MGT/MKT. This course may be substituted with BUS 220, CS 160, or CS 320
  • 1 upper division ACCT/BUS/COM/CMS/DMA/EC/FIN/MGT/MKT/PS. This course may be substituted with COM 111 or MA 198.

E. General Electives sufficient to give a total of 120 credits.
