From September 12 to September 14, 2025, JCU’s Professor Rosa Filardi participated in the fifth edition of the European Association of Dance Movement Therapy (EADMT) conference. This year, it was held in Vilnius, Lithuania, and it was titled “Visibility, Vitality & Vision of Dance Movement Therapy, Embodied Knowing in an Unpredictable World.”
Professor Filardi's workshop
Professor Filardi held a workshop, “Embodied Reflection on the Added Value of Dance Movement Therapy,” alongside her colleague Roberta Bassani. The workshop aimed to further explore the research conducted by the APID (Associazione Professionale Italiana DanzaMovimento), of which Filardi is a member, as a DanceMovementTherapist. The APID research is focused on the added value of Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) for individuals involved in activities and events featuring choreographic expression and performative dimensions. Through individual and group writing exercises, as well as improvisation, the workshop aimed to gather qualitative data for the existing research. The goal is to ultimately elevate the profile of the DMT profession and highlight its significant role and positive impact across therapeutic, cultural, social, educational, and artistic contexts.
Rosa Filardi has been teaching at JCU since 1998. She is a professor of Italian Language and Theater. She is one of the founders and organizers of the InVerse poetry festival at JCU. Her recent studies and search as a DMT professional focus on art as therapy, particularly in theater, dance, and creative writing. She has been collaborating with the Compagnia della Mia Misura, and a project of social inclusion through art and dance based in Rome. Her recent publications are the theatrical trilogy Volo Verticale, Scarti, Alba Liquida (Macabor, 2021) and the short story collections Inquietudini (Macabor, 2022) and Lo straordinario della vita (Macabor 2023).
