Bio

Professor Valerio Di Lucente has been teaching in the Department of Art and Design at John Cabot University since 2019. He is a designer, publisher, and co-founder of the design studio Julia (2008–2023). In 2021, he founded Veii, a publishing imprint focused on visual culture and critical investigations in art, photography, architecture, and design. 

His work includes the exhibition design for the Italian Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale and the art direction of the ICA in London (2012–2017). He has designed publications for Sternberg Press, MIT Press, and Humboldt Books. As art director of Publics in Helsinki, he developed the institution’s visual and spatial identity, including Publics Library and Publics Stool, a custom piece commissioned by Artek. 

In 2016, he was awarded the British Council’s Lina Bo Bardi Fellowship for research on Bo Bardi’s editorial practice, which culminated in a public presentation at the Barbican Centre and the publication Habitats (Humboldt Books, 2018).
