Luca Errico, who began teaching at JCU in 2025, is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in international finance, banking, and corporate strategy. He is a former IMF Division Chief and Non-Executive Director at Fincantieri, with global experience in ESG, systemic risk, and financial stability. He has also served as advisor to governments, international organizations, and multinational corporations.
From 1994 to 2016, Professor Errico served as Division Chief at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where he was the architect of the Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) and represented the IMF in the G20 and Basel forums. Between 2002 and 2004, he contributed to advancing global regulatory initiatives at the Financial Stability Forum. From 2019 to 2022, he was a Non-Executive Director at Fincantieri, serving on the ESG and governance committees. Earlier in his career, he worked at Mediobanca (1991–1994) in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, and statutory auditing, and was a Lecturer and Research Fellow at Bocconi University (1989–1991). His professional affiliations include membership in the European Economic Association (EEA) and the American Economic Association (AEA). He is also a Fellow of SDA Bocconi, serves on the Advisory Board of SDA Bocconi’s Executive Master in Management of International Organizations (EMMIO), and is an Adjunct Professor at UNINT in Rome.
