Federico Gianni (b. 1986) is a screenwriter and director whose work has garnered international acclaim. His short films have been screened at prestigious international festivals and have earned awards from the Directors Guild of America, Vimeo, and The Gotham (formerly known as IFP). His latest short film, "Cowboy Billi," premiered at the 39th Critic's Week at the Venice International Film Festival. The feature-length expansion of "Cowboy Billi" has been selected for the 2025 Ikusmira Berriak residency at the San Sebastian Film Festival. In addition to his filmmaking, Gianni teaches film at John Cabot University in Rome and New York University in Florence. He joined JCU in 2022.
