Crispin Corrado, who joined JCU in 2012, is a classical archaeologist specializing in Roman art. Her major research interests and publications focus on Roman wall painting, sculpture, and domestic and tomb architecture. Professor Corrado has fieldwork experience in Pompeii and has worked in a curatorial capacity in the departments of ancient art at the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Museum of Art at the Rhode Island School of Design, and the Vatican Museums. Professor Corrado has assisted in the creation and implementation of exhibitions of ancient art, co-authored catalogs, written books and articles, and presented guest lectures in her areas of expertise. Her current projects include an investigation of funerary monuments on the periphery of Rome, and a textbook on the ancient city.
