Professor Lindo was born in the Caribbean and raised in the US. She has lived, worked and studied in nine countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Following completion of her degrees in communications (BSc), international relations (MA) and international business (MBA), she worked in the public sector as a diplomat with the U.S. State Department and International Trade Officer with the U.S. Department of commerce. In both these roles, her writings and publications included diplomatic cables, foreign policy démarches, conference speeches, meeting talking points, white papers, executive briefs, quarterly and annual reports and formal presentations for American and international government officials, corporate and trade association top managers and media contacts. Professor Lindo has also worked extensively in the private sector as Marketing and Communications manager (with a focus on advertising, public relations and journalism) in a number of full-service marketing and communications agencies where she focused on client services, partnership building and sponsorship programs, and where her writings included communications plans, press releases, company newsletter content, partnership contracts, sponsorship proposals and new business pitches. She has represented clients from several industries, including banking, health care, major league sports, travel and tourism, private equity, and non-governmental organizations.

After relocating to Italy in 2008, Professor Lindo worked as translator, interpreter, content editor, ghost writer and contributing author for the English-language websites of an Italian geopolitical think tank and a European investment fund. She then shifted into education as Instructor of Advanced Communications Strategies at the Central Bank of Italy (Banca d’Italia), and as Adjunct Professor in Rome-based, American universities, where she teaches Writing Fundamentals, Writing from Research, Intensive English Composition, Advanced English Composition, Analytical Reading and Writing, Writing for Business, Marketing and Organizational Communication, Integrated Marketing Communications, Intercultural Communication, and Social Entrepreneurship.

Professor Lindo believes writing is transversal and a crucial skill in all industries. She uses her experiences in the public and private sectors to give students practical instruction on how to apply the fundamentals of clear, concise written and oral communication to any discipline and at all stages of the creative process, including brainstorming ideas, researching, outlining, drafting, editing, proofreading and publishing. By pulling on and sharing examples of her responsibilities in non-academic environments, she provides students with relevant insights into a vast array of careers and real-life applications of the learning achieved in the classroom.
