Independent Studies and Internships
Students can register for an Independent Study and/or an Internship during the normal registration period and no later than the drop/add period, in person, at the Registrar’s Office by submitting the appropriate forms.
Students may earn a maximum of three credit hours through independent study. Credits for independent study projects will be assigned with reference to the nature and scope of the project.
Independent studies may be performed at the 200 or 300-level.
The Independent Study Registration Form must be accompanied by a syllabus describing the course to be undertaken. Students will need to obtain the approval of their faculty independent study sponsor, Department Chair and the Dean of Academics before submitting the form to the Registrar’s Office.
For-credit internships may be performed at the 200 or 300-level.
Students will need to obtain the approval of their Faculty internship sponsor and the Internship Program Director’s Approval before submitting the Internship Application Form to the Registrar’s Office.
