Housing and Residential Life

JCU External Apartments

When the Gianicolo Residence and the Viale Trastevere Apartments reach capacity, John Cabot University will contract external apartments through a third-party provider. External apartments are traditional Roman-style apartments. JCU Housing takes pride in selecting apartments that provide similar amenities, comparable standards of living, and are located near Guarini and Tiber Campuses.

External apartments are often clustered together in the same buildings or neighborhoods, and are no farther away than a 30 minute walk or short bus ride from a John Cabot University campus, which is considered a quick commute by Roman standards.

Students living in external apartments will have the benefit of integrating into a building with local Italian neighbors. The external apartments are also served by our Resident Assistant team, who provide advice, tips, and information about nearby shops and services, and any other help our students may need. Additionally, students are provided with an emergency number that they can call 24/7.

"When in Rome"...become a regular at the breakfast bar around the corner, take in the sites on your way to class, find your own path through the narrow cobble-stone streets, and most importantly… do as the Romans do!
