Also known as "named scholarships," these awards are generously supported by JCU Donors who wish to establish a privately funded scholarship and provide a unique opportunity for JCU students. These Scholarships are generally awarded based on financial need and a variety of criteria including program of interest, residency, diversity and other student characteristics.

Columbus Guarini Scholarship for Italian-American Students
The Hon. Frank Guarini, Chairman Emeritus of John Cabot University's Board of Trustees, has provided a generous donation to the Columbus Citizens Foundation providing $5,000 scholarships for five Italian-American visiting students at JCU each year.
Study abroad students of Italian descent (at least 25% Italian) with a GPA of 3.0 (85% or B) or higher who are from households where the total gross income does not exceed $200,000 are eligible.

Marija Govedarica Memorial Scholarship Fund
Marija Govedarica, '03 was a beautiful woman, friend, confidante, and inspiration to those who knew her. Her life was cruelly cut short in early July 2017 at barely 36. She was an example of what can be accomplished with unwavering passion and persistence, whether one aspires to be a scholar in a faraway country, a citizen, spiritually aware or brave beyond measure.
This memorial scholarship has been established in her name, to perpetuate her memory and to promote the study of International Affairs and Political Science.
The Marija Godaverica Memorial Scholarship is a need-based award given to a student pursuing an academic major in the area of International Affairs & Political Science who maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA. For information on eligibility and how to apply, please contact email@example.com.
