Information for Students

The JCU Summer Institute in International Communication is open to all students, including non-majors, who are interested in the field of communication either for their major or as general electives.

When: Summer II 2012 - July 9th to August 9th

To participate in the Institute:

• apply as a regular JCU Summer II student: Apply Online
• check the box “JCU Summer Institute in International Communication” as part of your application form
• once accepted, register for at least one communication course listed below (and any other course you are interested in.) For all of the Summer II List of Classes and course syllabi see: JCU Summer II 2012 Courses

COM 101 Public Speaking: Rhetoric and Persuasion
COM 220 Media, Culture, and Society
COM 315 Survey of Rhetoric
COM 380 Intercultural Communications
COM 399A Special Topics in Communication: Communication Law: Freedom of Expression
COM 399B Special Topics in Communication: Religion and the Media
COM 399C Special Topics in Communication: Global Media Seminar: Television and Democracy in Italy
BUS 220 Business Communications
CMS/TH 241 Italian Cinema
All courses are 3 academic credits.

As a JCU Institute participant you will be invited to special events and networking dinners and be awarded a certificate upon successfully completion of your summer courses.

The JCU Summer Institute in International Communication program’s costs are the same as those for JCU’s regular summer sessions, which can be found on the Costs page.
