Bachelor of Arts in Art History
Rome has long been a center for scholars and teachers in the fields of art history
and archaeology. The wealth of monuments, archaeological and historical sites, churches,
palaces, and galleries dating from ancient times to the modern period offers a resource
of almost unlimited scope to the student.
The Bachelor of Arts in Art History emphasizes the development of painting, sculpture,
and architecture in Western Europe, and in Italy in particular. After the initial
foundation series, students continue to study more specialized areas such as Venetian
Art, Early Christian and Byzantine Art, and Modern Art. Courses are supplemented
by field trips to important centers of Italian art and culture.
