The Guarini Institute for Public Affairs was established through the generosity of the Honorable Frank J. Guarini, John Cabot University Trustee. The Institute offers an annual series of lectures, seminars, and encounters aimed at enhancing knowledge and understanding of the key issues and challenges facing the world today, in particular those affecting the United States and Europe.


The Guarini Institute Advisory Council

John Fanti started his career in AT&T Bell Laboratories after graduating from Stanford University with a Master in Engineering Economic Systems. When AT&T opened its first office in Italy, he moved to Rome and contributed to the liberalization of telecom services in Italy and to the privatization of Telecom Italia. In 2000, he started his own telecom company, Telefant Srl, offering Int’l voice services. He has been a member of the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy since 1994.

Guido Lenzi (Ambassador, ret.) served among others in London, Moscow, New York, UN, Paris (as Director of the European Security Studies Institute) and Vienna (as Permanent Representative to the OSCE). He has extensively published articles and lectured on foreign policy issues.

Lucio Martino earned a doctorate in History from ISOB, Naples, and is one of Italy’s leading experts on US foreign affairs and Transatlantic relations. In 2006 he was a visiting fellow at the Walker Institute of International and Area Studies, University of South Carolina, Columbia. He contributed several dozen articles to various publications, including many in English.

Barbara Pontecorvo
is a lawyer specializing in commercial and tax law. She is active in the Jewish Community of Rome, and particularly interested in international politics and the Middle East. She is a member of the executive committee of the “Fondazione Formiche”.
