One of the primary goals of the John Cabot Alumni Association is to provide Alumni opportunities to stay involved with the University community long after graduation. Below is a list of ways that alumni can stay involved! If you are interested in participating in any of these programs, please
contact us!
Alumni Profiles
Alumni can share what they are doing after John Cabot by posting an alumni profile online!
Alumni Testimonials
Alumni share their personal experience at John Cabot without the commitment of face-to-face or telephone interactions.
Aid the Admissions Office
The Admissions Office is constantly being asked for names of alumni by prospective students or parents who have questions ranging from majors to what to pack. Admissions Aids are able to speak with these students and parents, and have the opportunity for one-on-one conversations about John Cabot.
Alumni Reunion Committees
In order to effectively organize reunions throughout the country and at a distance, each reunion will be organized by a local committee made up entirely of Alumni. These Alumni get to be a pivotal part of creating a community and re-connecting with other Alumni around the world. Even though we can’t all be in Rome, at least we can be together!
Alumni Ambassador Program
Some alumni want a much higher level of involvement with John Cabot, and most of them simply want to help spread the word about John Cabot. Alumni Ambassadors get to visit local high schools to speak with students and college counselors about John Cabot.
Alumni Receptions
The University is looking for dedicated alumni who are willing to host small networking receptions across the globe, in an effort to strengthen the bonds among our geographically disperse alumni network. If you are interested in hosting a reception in your area, the University will identify how many alumni are in your region and assist you with event details, such as sending out invitations to your event.
Recruiting
Every year, John Cabot University reaches out to the next generation of prospective JCU students by participating in college fairs across the United States and internationally. As an alumnus who can speak first-hand about the unique experience of attending John Cabot, you can make the difference in encouraging new students to consider your alma mater. The University will inform you if a college fair is being held in your area and the responsibilities of hosting John Cabot’s booth at the event.
Career Services
Help bring other John Cabot University students and graduates into your company by sharing job announcements with the University. The Office of Career Services can advertise college-level internships and entry-level jobs vacancies on campus, and can broadcast vacancies for skilled professionals to the alumni network.
Lecturing
Throughout the year, professors look to enhance their courses by hosting guest speakers who can share their experiences. Your work, volunteer, or graduate school experience could be a perfect match for subjects being covered in today’s classrooms. Guest lectures take place on campus during a course’s regular meeting time, and speaking arrangements are coordinated with individual professors.
Mentoring
This program pairs JCU Alumni with current students interested in pursuing similar careers. As a mentor, you can connect with your matched student for as little as one meeting or can build a relationship over the course of his or her time at JCU. Alumni living outside of Rome can participate in this program as “distance mentors,” connecting with students online and by phone.
Fundraising
Alumni volunteers are needed to help identify prospects, make connections to potential corporate and foundation donors, and solicit their peers for contributions to the annual fund, Tiber Campus construction, and student scholarships.
