Arrival Information and Housing Move In & Out Dates

1. Move-in/Arrival Dates

Review the table of move-in dates below. JCU Housing is not available before or after the dates listed.  You are expected to be completely moved out of Housing by 12:00 p.m. of the last day of move-out.

No housing will be available to students under any circumstances before or after the scheduled move-in/out dates. If you arrive in Rome before the move-in date, you must arrange for your own accommodations and transportation to the Guarini Campus until your accommodations become available. If you are traveling with family or friends, please note that overnight guests are not allowed to stay in JCU housing with you.

2. Shuttle Service

For your convenience, JCU arranges a shuttle service for you between the Rome-Fiumicino Airport (FCO) and your apartment (provided that you arrive on the move-in date(s) and have filled out and submitted the Arrival Information Form.

VERY IMPORTANT:  If for any reason (delays, missed flights, booking mistakes, etc.) you are not able to meet the JCU representatives in the airport during the hours of operation (8 am to 7 pm,) you will need to arrange for your accommodations and transportation to the Housing Office at the Gianicolo Residence on Vicolo della Penitenza, which is open from 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays. Please note that if your plane arrives before 9 am, you will be able to wait in the airport until the first shuttle.

Shuttle Times: 9 am to 7 pm

- Booking Your Flight
When choosing a flight into Rome, try to find one that arrives no later than 5 pm on the move-in date. This should give you enough time to make it from the tarmac to the meeting point outside of customs before the last shuttle at 7 pm. Please remember that there can be significant delays in passport control and in customs.

Avoiding European connecting flights can also help you avoid delays that might cause you to miss the last shuttle. Major airports are infamous for causing delays. We especially encourage first-time international travelers to find a direct flight to Rome from the US. Remember to book your flight early so you will be able to pick and choose your connecting cities.

Arrival Survival Kit: Don’t leave home without this!
