Housing Application Section and Deadlines
Every student wishing to use JCU Housing must submit the Housing Request Form regardless of their home university study abroad program predetermined agreement with JCU.
If you are visiting through your home university’s study abroad program, check to see what agreement your home university has made with JCU (if any) concerning your housing. In some cases your university pre-determines your housing arrangements (where you will be assigned and whether you or the university pays the housing fee) and in others, you need to do it yourself.
You should fill out the Housing Request Form in any case to let us know your roommate requests. Roommate requests will be taken into consideration but not guaranteed, and requests must be mutual. For any special housing needs, concerns or questions please contact the JCU Housing Office at housing@johncabot.edu.
To be assigned housing from the JCU Housing Office, you must:
- Be accepted to the University
- Complete and return the Housing Request Form
- Pay a Housing Placement Fee: $1,000 (Spring/Fall semester)
or $600 (Summer sessions) which is waived under some University Agreements. The Housing Placement Fee will be applied to your final housing bill. Note: The Housing Placement Fee is a NON REFUNDABLE advance payment that reserves your housing request and is credited toward your total housing cost. The remaining housing cost is due before you can register or receive the keys to your accommodations.

On the Housing Request Form you will be asked to indicate the order of your preferences (fill in 1st choice for your highest priority, then 2nd choice for the next and so on). Read the Housing Options and Prices section carefully before making your choice.

Housing Request Form (HRF) and Housing Placement Fee (HPF) Deadline:
- USD $1,000 for the Fall Semester:
- US/Canadian Degree-seeking students: May 1st
- Non US/Canadian Degree-seeking students: Upon submission of Housing Request Form (HRF) and not later than July 15
- USD $1,000 for the Spring Semester: Upon submission of HRF and not later than November 30
- USD $600 for the Summer I Session: April 30
- USD $600 for the Summer II Session: May 30
Housing Requests received after these dates cannot be guaranteed. Requests are not considered complete until the Housing Placement Fee and Housing Request Form are received.
Housing Cost Payment Deadlines:
- Fall 2008: July 15
- Spring 2009: November 30
- Summer I, 2009: April 30
- Summer II, 2009: May 30
LATE FEE
A late fee of USD $150 will be added to payments received after the deadline.
