Admission to
John Cabot’s Study Abroad Program is based on a review of the following items:
An Application Form: completed in its entirety, and accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of U.S. $50.00 for U.S. and Canadian citizens. All other applicants must pay €50.00.
note: DEADLINES - November 15th for the Spring Term & June 1st for Fall Term
Official Transcripts from the applicant’s college or university.
Personal or unofficial copies are not acceptable. Documents in languages other than English or Italian must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Signed Course Approval Form: form should be completed by both the student and the home institution’s academic or study abroad advisor.
Study abroad students who wish to satisfy graduation requirements by transferring credits for courses taken at
John Cabot should consult with their academic advisor at their home university and choose their courses prior to departure.
We recommend that study abroad students take at least one Italian language course as part of their program while studying at
John Cabot. Placement is determined by the Italian proficiency exam administered during the orientation session.
Students receiving financial aid should contact the Financial Aid office at their home institution to ensure that through a
consortium agreement, their aid will transfer to cover their study abroad period.
Study abroad students enjoy all the rights, privileges and services of degree-seeking students, although priority in course registration is granted to full-time, degree-seeking candidates.
Evidence of English Language Proficiency: If English is not your native language and you didn’t attend an institution where classes were taught in English, please submit your TOEFL score (minimum score – 213 in the computer test or 550 in the traditional, paper test), ibTOEFL 85+ or IELTS 6.5+.
If you have not undertaken any of these tests, you are obliged to take our internal English proficiency test.
