Degree-seeking Students Scholarships

The following John Cabot University scholarships and grants are available to degree-seeking students and apply to the regular academic (fall and spring semesters) year only.

Expansion Scholarships

JCU’s new Expansion Scholarships are designed to increase ethnic and national diversity at the University and are awarded to students who are citizens of countries in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe (including Russia), and Latin America. Students who are national minorities within their own countries will also be considered for this scholarship.

The Expansion Scholarship is a €4,000 annual scholarship. To qualify for this scholarship, you need a GPA of 2.75 (or equivalent) and have demonstrated leadership potential. You will automatically be considered for a scholarship based on your application to JCU. No additional application is required.

Expansion Scholarships renew automatically each academic year, if you maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and satisfactory academic progress.

Presidential Scholarships

JCU Presidential Scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of academic achievement. The student’s personal statement may also be considered when determining the award of this scholarship. If you are a new freshmen or transfer student with a strong academic record, you may qualify for annual Presidential Scholarships in the following amounts:

Cumulative GPA (or equivalent)   Annual Presidential Scholarship
 3.75 and above      up to € 7,000 or $ 9,500
 3.50 to 3.74  up to € 6,000 or $ 8,000
 3.00 to 3.49  up to € 3,750 or $ 5,000

You will automatically be considered for a scholarship based on your application to JCU. No additional application is required.

For students who come from the British educational system, the Presidential Scholarships are awarded based on the average grade of three A-levels using the following conversion:

A-level grade     A     B    C    D     E
Equivalent GPA Points  4.00  3.50  3.00  2.50  2.00

For example, students who have an AAB would have an equivalent GPA of: (4.0 + 4.0 + 3.5)/3 = 3.83.

For other students who have graduated with the International Baccalaureate (IB), Presidential Scholarships are awarded in the following amounts:

IB Diploma Grade   Annual Presidential Scholarship
36 and above      up to € 7,000 or $ 9,500
 28 to 35  up to € 6,000 or $ 8,000
 24 to 27  up to € 3,750 or $ 5,000

For all other students, your admissions counselor will compute your equivalent GPA.

Scholarships are initially awarded for one entire academic year. They are renewed annually provided that you maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress at the end of each scholarship year.

Navigator Scholarship

The Navigator Scholarship is awarded to new degree-seeking students (freshman and transfer applicants) who have demonstrated an appreciation for the richness and diversity of other cultures and have shown they have leadership potential. The Navigator Scholarship is awarded based on the application essay and letters of recommendation.
