Security

Rome is a very safe city and violent crime is rare. The Student Services staff is always available to answer any questions you may have about staying safe in the city. See below for important information regarding your safety overseas, and who you can contact if you are victim to a theft or another crime.

The local equivalent to the “911” emergency line in Italy is: 113.

Carabinieri
Via Mentana, 6 (north of Termini) or Piazza Venezia (no number but you can't miss them!)

Polizia
Via San Francesco Ripa, 64 (in Trastevere)
Via Ruffini, 1 (in Prati)
Via Farini, 40 (south of Termini)
Via S. Vitale, 15 (off Via Nazionale)
Piazza del Collegio Romano, 3 (near Piazza Venezia).

Take the police report with you when you go to your embassy.

Thefts and losses: Credit cards

Lost or stolen credit cards present risk of identity theft and should be cancelled immediately.
Then file a police report as above.
