JCU Welcomes Summer II Students at New Tiber Student Center
The John Cabot University community welcomed incoming visiting students for the Summer II session at a special lunch on July 2nd at the newly-opened Tiber Student Center.
Students, who hail from all across the USA and from various countries around the world, joined JCU President Franco Pavoncello as well as faculty and staff to celebrate the official opening of the Tiber Campus Student Center . Everyone enjoyed delicious pizza, hamburgers, and hot dogs in the brand new cafeteria, which seats about 200 students and promises to become an important center for student life at JCU.
The Tiber Student Center cafeteria will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily and will feature a wide variety of Italian and American foods including pasta, pizza, meat and fish, in addition to a rich salad bar and other vegetarian dishes. And of course gelato!
In addition to the Welcome Lunch, the two-day Orientation period features sessions designed to acquaint students with the University and the Eternal City, as well as provide an introduction to Italian culture. In addition to a tour of JCU's Trastevere neighborhood, students also have the opportunity to take walking tours of ancient Rome and to get tips on enjoying the city while staying safe.
In order to enhance students' summer session experience, the Office of Student Services has prepared a wide variety of activities including yoga, Tai chi, and pilates classes, Italian cooking classes, discounted tickets to the opera and other performances in Rome, and guided excursions to points of interest outside of the city.
JCU staff and Student Ambassadors are happy to answer students' questions and provide information about the University and the city of Rome. Contact studentservices@johncabot.edu.
